My grandmother is teaching me how to cook. Every weekend, I visit her house and we cook something together. She is an excellent cook and knows many recipes.
Last week, we made chocolate cake. First, my grandmother showed me all the ingredients we needed: flour, sugar, eggs, butter, chocolate, and milk. She explained that we must measure everything carefully.
We started by mixing the butter and sugar together. My grandmother told me to stir slowly and carefully. Then we added the eggs, one at a time. After that, we added the flour and mixed everything well.
The most exciting part was melting the chocolate. We put the chocolate in a bowl over hot water. I watched it melt slowly. It smelled wonderful! Then we added the melted chocolate to our mixture.
We poured everything into a baking pan and put it in the oven. My grandmother said we had to wait forty minutes. While we waited, we cleaned the kitchen together. She always says that a good cook keeps the kitchen clean.
When the timer rang, we took the cake out of the oven. It looked perfect! We waited for it to cool down before eating it.
Finally, we cut the cake and tasted it. It was delicious! My whole family enjoyed it. My grandmother was proud of me, and I was proud of myself too. Now I want to learn how to make more dishes. Cooking is fun, especially when you cook with someone you love.
